How Poor Posture Can Affect Breathing, Digestion, and Energy Levels
Posture affects far more than how you look — it plays a significant role in how your body functions. Slouching or forward-head posture can compress the rib cage, limit diaphragm movement, and reduce how efficiently you breathe. Over time, shallow breathing can affect energy levels and place added stress on the nervous system.
Poor posture can also influence digestion. When the spine and rib cage are compressed, it can place pressure on the organs and limit proper movement within the abdomen. This may contribute to feelings of bloating, discomfort, or fatigue, especially during long periods of sitting.
Chiropractic adjustments help improve spinal alignment and joint motion, allowing the body to sit and stand more naturally. By restoring movement and reducing tension, the body is better able to breathe deeply and function efficiently. Supporting posture can improve comfort, energy, and overall daily performance.
