Scar Tissue: How Old Injuries Can Still Affect You

Even after pain fades, scar tissue can continue to impact how your body moves. Scar tissue forms after injuries, surgeries, or repetitive strain, and while it’s part of healing, it’s often stiffer and less flexible than healthy tissue.
Over time, restricted tissue can limit range of motion, alter movement patterns, and place extra stress on nearby joints. This may contribute to lingering tightness, pulling sensations, or recurring pain—sometimes far from the original injury.
You may notice:• Tightness that won’t stretch out• Discomfort with certain movements• Recurrent pain in the same area
At 614 Chiropractic in Hilliard, we evaluate tissue mobility alongside joint function to help restore proper movement and reduce long-term strain from unresolved scar tissue.
